Severn Area Branch
The Rev. Bill Boon conducted a short and moving service at the monument in Sharpness on Merchant Navy Day with more than 20 members and family attending.  We all then went to the Lammastide where they provided a superb meal for 18.  A fantastic day out was spent on the Balmoral - a very popular trip with many people - down to Clevedon.  And a very enjoyable lunch was had before a walk to stretch the legs before the coach trip back to Sharpness
The next meeting will be at the Royal British Legion, Hardwicke on 16th October at 7.30.  The following meeting will be a steak/kidney pie evening at the  Royal Naval Club, Pershore on 29th November.  There will be no meeting in December and it is intended to have a Christmas meal on 12th January - venue to be arranged.

Recently, three members of the Hawkes Bay Branch  New Zealand travelled to Wanganui for the unveiling of a memorial plaque on the city cenotaph.  This is a first in New Zealand and instigated and organized by MN lads in Wanganui and the City Mayor and council. We have Memorial plaques in other cities, Napier for instance but  these  were at members own expense we are grateful to the Wanganui Council for showing the way and hope others will follow suit    also attached is a picture of Well deserving MN lads and of course Tony Scott and Alex Bailey at a post ceremony celebration at local Returned Services Clubroom.
